What is Guachimontones?

The Guachimontones archaeological site is located in the central valleys of the state of Jalisco, in the foothills of the Tequila Volcano which together with Vega Dam offer a beautiful landscape; this archaeological site, which was discovered in 1970 by Dr. Phil Weigand and his studio and recovery began in 1996, is considered by some researchers as one of the most important archaeological sites of western Mexico.
